 A new, easy-to-understand food guide that uses a familiar food plate model to convey the right food group proportions on a per-meal basis to meet the body's energy and nutrient needs of adults. Pinggang Pinoy serves as visual tool to help Filipinos adopt healthy eating habits at meal times by delivering effective dietary and healthy lifestyle messages.

On April 27, 2016 the 1st DOST Technology Transfer Day was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, CCP Complex, Pasay City. The whole day event brought together the different stakeholders in research and development that led to the forging of partnerships between industry players and the technology generators.


The FNRI-DOST launched the Pinggang Pinoy for the different population groups during the 61st Annual Convention of the Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines (NDAP). The launching was held on February 24, 2016 during the NDAP fellowship night at the Royal Garden Hall and Convention Center, General Luna Street, Iloilo City.
