IN PHOTOS: WHEAT FLOUR INDUSTRY CONSULTATION WORKSHOP

The Department of Science and Technology - Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI), with the National Nutrition Council (NNC), recently convened a consultation workshop with members of the Wheat Flour Industry to revisit the Flour Fortification Program under Republic Act No. 8976 held at the Wynwood Hotel Manila.

The consultation workshop was attended by key figures, including NNC Executive Director Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang, Nutrition International Country Representative Erwin O. Nacuray, DOST-FNRI Senior Science Research Specialist Abbie L. Padrones, as well as representatives from the wheat flour industry, fortificant importers and distributors, food manufacturing sector, bakery associations, national government agencies, and non-government organizations.

The workshop provided a platform to inform industry stakeholders about the proposed amendments to the Flour Fortification Program and to solicit their feedback, comments, and concerns regarding the potential changes.
