๐๐ก ๐ฃ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฆ: The DOST-Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) showcased its commitment to driving Philippine R&D forward at the DOST's "ELEV8PH: Pushing S&T Frontiers for National Development" launch on February 5, 2024, at Dusit Thani Manila.
Among the eight big R&D programs presented was ACABAI-PH by DOST-ASTI, in which DOST-FNRI is a key participant in a project on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) in Philippine Food Composition Tables (PhilFCT).
During the panel discussion, Atty. Lucieden G. Raz, Deputy Director and Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Director, emphasized the transformative potential of AI.
She explained how AI could revolutionize the generation, management, and accessibility of food composition data within the PhilFCT, ultimately improving accuracy and reliability and expanding the available food composition data for nutrition and public health.
This initiative underscores DOST-FNRI's dedication to leveraging AI for food science and nutrition advancements.
